Is that new nickel plated brass (not reload)? I thought you really can't reload Ni plated because it can flake off if resized. I guess you must be expanding & crimping minimally as well.
This bunch was Once-Fired Brass. Anything/everything I reload gets a Thorough inspection after Cleaning. Been using Nickel plated brass for years, especially for 357Mag & 38Spl & have Not had an issue with "Flaking." The plating Will eventually wear off (after 4+ reloads). Yes, I expand enough to get the bullet started & then a Modest Taper Crimp. Same process when loading 38Spl & 357Mag.

I use lots on nickel brass like you. I have some in 38 special that has very little nickel left on the cases.
Nickel 223 brass is much easier to find in the grass also.

I was rooting through one of the commercial re-loaders stuff at Muncie's show on sat and found three bags of new Starline 30 Carbine brass at a pretty good price. $33.00 a 100View attachment 355456
Good find! I scrounged my first several hundred. Starline finally made a run of them and I loaded up. Bought a 120 grain mold from Lee, a size die, and 3000 gas checks. Picked up 1000 110 grain FMJ from RMR a couple weeks ago too. Good for life.

Have been messing around with 8.6blk this weekend.
Loaded up 10 225gr Hornady CX rounds with 29.4gr of CFEBLK at 2.660 oal in my 16" Rem 700.
    Shot at 50 yds.
After 2 sighters, shot 8 into about .9 inches with 5 being in the same hole.
    Average velocity was 1943 fps.
Granted that's about a 1.8moa group, but the 5 in one hole shows much promise.

Setting up one machine for .45ACP and the other for .30 Carbine.
I just opened a bag of 500 once fired Starline 30 carbine brass that I ordered from Nereloading.com. Its some of the cleanest once fired brass brass I have ever bought. I have never dealt or heard of this company before, but from order to my mailbox was 5-6 days with a weekend in the middle.

I just reordered a 1,000 this time and that gets a 10% discount. So a 1,000 delivered was $262.80 free ship no tax.

Looks like brand new Starline! I ordered enough .38 Special brass from them to fill a 5-gallon pail. Great company to do business with. They clean ranges and have barrels and barrels of lead and brass.

    Good for you.
I read the ad and was like okkkkk, let's see what it looks like. I will say we'll done gentleman.
There used to be a man who's son and dil did the Tipton to the West side shows in Indiana. They were from Illinois, the dad was hooked up with the Illinois state prisons and he bought all the 38 special brass after the did there qualifications.
It was all Winchester 38 wadcutter brass.
It was like 3 bucks a hundred. I bought all they had at every show that I cought up to them.
It's had to find quantities of wad cutter brass in today's world.

Lol, moving some stuff around I found the real of the bags from last years loading Boo Boo's
All of that 9mm was from a 12 to 15,000 run with coated 124 's from Summit City and 124 jacketed from Montana.
Most didn't gage well or a primer issue.

I need to get an auger like Andrew has.

Tried two loads at a shoot today. 3.5 and 4.0 grains of W244 in .38 Special with 125 grain RNFP. The 4.0 was kind of snappy. The 3.5 ran well in the rifle. I still lost to my daughter, but my ammo went bang. Lol

Getting the 10 ready for deer this year. 200gr xtp hovering around 1250fps from a six in barrel.
Also been tooling around trying to find load data for h4198 for the 458 socom. It's pretty versatile, but I'm not super sure it's what I should be using vs the 296 or some cfe variant.

In the midst of a large run of 30 Carbine. Borrowed a hard to find five hole shell plate from a benevolent INGO'r who was nice enough to send it to me since I can't find a plate anywhere here in the United States of Chaos for use in my LoadMaster.
It's going slower than expected. I guess I'm not too swift when it comes to retooling from one caliber to another but I'm still learning.
Hopefully today I can finish up and have a total of 900 cartridges, as long as my primers and powder(and left cranking arm) hold out, and get his plate back to him.

A six weeks or so ago I bought a rcbs Summit press from a member of Castboolits. Last weekend I went to bolt it to a bench and low and behold it had a broken casting on one of the pivots.
I had the sad's with seeing this. I don't know if it broke in transit, was broken or how it happened.
    1000000403.jpg

I don't think I've ever called rcbs's service depth but I put in a call to order a new top pivot. Within minutes I was told your not going to get a red one, but how about blue camo or rcbs green. I said green it is, how much is it going to cost me?
He told me it was free and it was coming with some new pivot pins and wavy washers.
Box showed up today, getting ready to swap out those parts.
