I really like Colion Noir's videos. His take on the new P365 mirrors a lot of my initial thoughts.

I have owned and carried the Shield 9, Kahr PM9, Glock 43 and Walther PPS 9mm. For me, my new P365 renders all of them completely obsolete. It blows them all away, not only in capacity, but in shootability as well. The recoil impulse is extremely manageable, even with +P ammo. It shoots softer than any of the other single-stack polymer 9mms that I've owned.

The P365 is damn near Glock 19 capability with PM9 carryability. I really hope Sig does more with this platform than just the P365 sized pistol. A Glock 19 sized P365 with maybe 17+1 capacity and a 4" barrel would be perfect. Sig finally figured out how to make a good striker fired pistol without the goofy ass high bore axis on the P320. Now they need to run with the design.
Good video. He hits all the points that make this pistol a great design. The issue now seems to be the quality of some parts, i.e. firing pins. There seems to be a rare failure of trigger return springs and barrels. This does make me hesitant about carrying one for personal defense, unless I have a back up gun. I've got one "in the mail" so I'll be checking it out this coming week. With an aftermarket striker and trigger return spring, I might be ready to EDC. We'll see.

Even our own Tim from the Military Arms Channel and Copper Custom is having issues with his P365. Mine is still running 100% after ~1,000 rounds but I religiously use soft Federal Primers and when dry firing use Snap Caps. Seems to me like a better trigger return spring and a forged firing pin are needed here.

    Sig P365...Lots of Problems...

Best to wait until they may workout the problems. I would not be surprised of the magazines wear out fast (and they are not cheap).

Had been waiting on someone to buy #3 & 4 365's at my LGS, but no one has been asking for them, so I now own #2 & 4 that my LGS has received. :D

What makes you think the magazines would wear out fast? I think it is a good idea, if you are going to fire thousands of rounds in your Sig P365 that you number your magazines and keep the ones for carry lightly used. I would think that might be a good idea for any EDC. Of course everyone has long forgotten the swelling of the original Glock mags. I'm starting to see the same videos over and over again.

They almost defy logic in having that many rounds fit into that size magazine. If it sounds too good to be true...

I mean I only own 5 of the magazines and have taken them apart several times as well. One of my 12 rounders has close to 700 through it (I keep the others "fresh" for carry). Its actuallt a really neat design

I want the Sig P365 to be the "real deal". I may buy one if it stands the test of time. I'm just a little skeptical at this point.

Firing pin after 1,000+ live fire rounds and allot more dry fire, I stick with softer Federal Primers for my ammo (I reload and carry Federal HST) and when dry firing I use Snap Caps as well so that might have helped hard to say.

The magazine uses a "staggered" spring that enables the "one and a half" stack magazine to work well

I'd be interested to hear how things go for you replacing the two parts that are known to have issues. I really want to love the gun, but am hesitant to give anything a try that has so many reported issues.

At this point, I'm not sure that those aftermarket parts are available, but we'll see. My Kahr CM-9 has the primer "wipe" and the firing pin has held up to that for many rounds (I bought it used). I won't be shooting any foreign manufactured ammo or primers in the Sig, so primer hardness shouldn't be a factor.

After reading many pages of that thread, I'm less likely to buy one now than I was before I read it. I'd like to believe it was a really small sample affected, but I personally wouldn't spend money to become a guinea pig, especially when the breakage could occur after 2k+ rounds. That doesn't address the trigger return spring issue either, though I didn't look to see if there was a resolution for that as well. I think I'll wait 6 months to a year and revisit the issue and see if all of the problems have been worked out.
