If you would simply consent to having an even larger government to further strip you of the fruits of your labor and further curb your individual liberties, you could be protected and kept safe from such things.

Another day, another example of how bloated, excessive, and unnecessary the confiscatory federal government has become.

Red, you are a subtle fellow. Some time you need to let us know how you really feel about this.

Not really a fair measure. If you removed the positions that weren't actually getting paid currently, this country would feel it greatly. However, many essential jobs are still working without pay until this is resolved.

I think that's what people aren't considering. A LOT of people are working, they just aren't getting paid. I wonder if the people that are "unaffected," by the shutdown, would still be saying so, if the people who are still working, and not getting paid, simply had their positions eliminated.

Mark levin points out the #days of shutdown counts are including holidays and weekends, when much of this crap is shut down already.

let’s trim the federal beaurocracy by 30% and call it a day

Let's cut it by 30% and call it breakfast.

Let's cut it another 30% and call it lunch.

Let's cut it another 30% and call it dinner.

    Dessert anyone?

There are probably more that would never be missed than those that would. The Federal government has gotten WAY too big. 1.9 million employees for around $115 Billion.

Why do people keep saying that the workers are "WORKING WITHOUT PAY", when that is patently FAKE NEWS? They are working without immediate pay, but they WILL get paid for the work that they are doing, once the budget deal is cut. They are not being forced to work without compensation.

    Sure, fine.

"Work without compensation in a time as agreed upon, and without any explanation of when exactly they will get paid."

    Feel better?
