Yeah. And miss all this fun?

You and BF are right. I lost my mind there for a minute. (That statement may lead you to ask: "had you not already lost it?" Or "you actually have a mind?" In any event, don't ask my wife. She is not an unbiased source, and her judgement is questionable, for obvious reasons)

Nah. your mind seems intact to me. For whatever that's worth.

Did a quick drive by on this thread to see if anyone has posted any links. I had this discussion with a few of my FB friends. And before I post the link It might interest you all to know that until the 17th amendment passed we did not directly elect our Senators, because they represented THE STATE and were elected by the legislatures.

Eliminating the EC would result in a nationwide situation similar to that in Illinois, Colorado, New York, and a few other states in which concentrations of population, also known as big cities, decide everything for the entire state. Hillary won only 57 of the 3151 counties in the USA. DID YOU KNOW? Trump Won 3,084 out of 3,151 Counties. Hillary Only Won 57 ? TruthFeed

    "truthfeed"?

According to the AP, Hillary won 487 counties compared to Trump's 2,626. Apparently Truthfeed changed their numbers to reflect that.

Oh, the 17th amendment has certainly come up in this thread (and in every other thread discussing the EC).

I wonder how many folks who are big EC fans right now would still be big fans if faithless electors put Hilary in the white house.

Such an effort would be a very major event. Like... civil war level of ****ing with the electoral process. Even Hillary wouldn't want that.

Put the current POTUS in the White House twice, and I don't recall this EC conversation either time. The last time I do recall, is Bush II.
