I disagree. I wrestled a pig in the mud on Sunday. Four actually. And I won, because they got in the trailer. And they did not like it, as it resulted in their deaths. In a few days I'll be picking up packages and packages of

    :bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance::bacondance:

    I stand corrected.

Any, I won't try to debate you because you are right.

Oh! Well, debating someone who is already right is a moot.

Translation: I don't like to debate.

I have to admit I did not account for that possibility. I retract my confusion.

I don't like to debate either. I just do it for completeness. I can't stand to let the internet be wrong.

I thought The Internet was right by definition? Or is it just "true"?

could you guys shut up so we can get back to talking about how we need more sacred, heartfelt, soulful apologies from the feds for, you know, stuff?

Why is it always the same dozen or so of you who tend to capitalize the economic philosophy on this site? Clearly, you don't hold the majority in the USA. Is it the dying gasps of the last defenders of truth...as you know it?

I've done well in my life and seen a lot of the world. And many different social classes and cultures. I'm not bitter about a thing. I retired early and have supported myself and family since I was in my teens. I don't have a penny of debt.

That doesn't mean I don't recognize what wealth in the hands of rentiers and what corporate power are doing to the American Dream. It disturbs me. And while you dozen or so fight the good fight against the poor and desperate, your overlords are picking your pocket to suit their objectives.

If it will help, if someone can find someone who is a slave, I'll try to find someone who owned slaves so that the proper apologies can be made.

Actually, the people you call overlords are paying our wages, and we appreciate that.

The real overlords are picking pockets, and you're supporting the guy that wants to do more of that. Your argument is self-defeating.

There used to be more than a dozen, but some of them have been shootered......

Using the interests of a few on INGO as an assessment of the political climate of the U.S. is, well, imprudent. But if we are to use that as the measure, might I remind you that you are in the decided minority.

No, that just won't do. I need it to come from a black president. Because that makes sense. Or maybe white house staffers. But I need it to be sincere, I want Obama to feel real remorse for owning slaves when he delivers this apology.

I would like to apologize to Leadeye and all Martians for insulting them in the last sanders thread. I would rep him but
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Leadeye again.
Maybe the socialist faction would like to take all of my rep and distribute as it sees fit.

If you mean of capitalism, private property right, etc., then you may be right. We seem headed toward a socialist utopia like Venezuela and Greece with people like you now in charge. Enjoy your victory.

So it's not you, but the other rich people that need to pay their fair share.

You have no idea who I'll support in this election, because I sure don't. We don't have candidates at this time. I hope to God it's not Hillary on the Democratic side and I have said that I respect Bernie Sanders but don't agree with all of his ideas. You've extrapolated that into me being a Stalinist. So much for reading comprehension.

If you work for someone else, your wages have not increased at the same rate as your productivity over the last 20 years. Your executives have had very healthy increases over that period of time. Some of that was clearly deserved....founders taking companies public, smart acquisitions, great new product ideas, etc. But there is a group of executives who don't do any of those things but have benefitted from the coattails of those really great CEO's. Back in the 90's, a $1 million CEO compensation package was excellent. In inflation adjusted dollars, that's about $1.9 million. But, the compensation of CEO's has swelled to over $15 million, according to the Economic Policy Institute. GNP hasn't grown at that rate. Your salary hasn't grown at that rate.

The message is clear. Own your job and don't be beholden to someone else to raise your wages.

    Wait.....maybe I don't want to do that:

In contrast, the BLS data for all CEOs says CEOs made on average $138,380 in 2003 and $178,400 in 2013. Thus, the pay of all CEOs rose by 29 percent, which is less than the increase in pay of production and non-supervisory workers In other words, the pay gap between “regular” workers and CEOs is nowhere near as big as it is commonly depicted as being and, most shockingly, has actually shrunk slightly over the past decade, not widened.
    http://www.forbes.com/sites/jeffrey...ollar-worker-pay-is-actually-gaining-on-ceos/

The only way you get the huge CEO pay gaps is by ignoring about 99% of the CEOs in the country and only counting the largest companies.

Man, this thread is all over the place. I feel like the discussion would be more coherent if we broke it into a few topics:

    1. Demanding an apology for slavery.
    2. The injustice of the death tax.
    3. The merits of Marxism.
