Just realized that my 1076 hasn't been back to S&W for the recall, because it doesn't have the punch marks like the 1026 has. Worth looking into sending back for the recall or no?

I would call SW and see if it’s be done. Back in the day I had one with factory papers saying it had been done but no punch.

Interesting, might be worth looking into. Thanks. I wish Indy was closer, it might be worth looking around for 3rd gens, but driving as far as I would need to, just to get to the door, more or less kills it for me.

Anyone have any time with the Lew Horton special's from the 3rd gen line. I found one on gunbroker that looks interesting, just wondering if it's worth pulling the trigger on.

First hand; not really. Looked at a few over the years but I always thought a true Performance Center firearm was a more secure investment. Of course, now the Lew Horton's sell for just as a much a PC gun so don't listen to me! LOL

Yeah, I don't have any of the 45ACP 3rd gens and happened to see a 4596 on gunbroker. Not sure if I want to spend what the opening bid is, but it's a cool looking gun.

Can't remember if it was a Lew Horton or not but I had a 4566 CQB once that was the nicest 3rd gen I ever owned. That and the Shorty 9's were good guns.

According to the S&W bible it says less than 500 made. I saw that too while going through the list of the 3rd gen to see what was available on gb.

According to the S&W bible lnib is 1k. Then again this edition came out in 2016 I believe so the values could be a bit different.

On another note got the parts I need to assemble the frame and put the 915 slide on top. Well try to do some polishing of the frame rails this weekend and put all the guts in.

As far as I can tell, it's just a model they had put together. Its a 4506-1 frame with a 4516-1 slide, more or less. Just a rare bird, in number produced.

Would be cheaper to buy the 4596 if only looking for that style. If that auction suddenly takes off then I would find a 4516&4506 and have "4" firearms.

That's a good price for a 3953. If I didn't even to wait a little over 4 days to see if I win the s&w 33-1 on gb I would be tempted. If only I was Bill Gates rich.

Yeah, I just picked up a CS45 for real cheap on gunbroker. Like I had said before, mis-labeled guns are the best. Some had it listed as a model 36 chiefs special CS45.
