Sounds like a potential ceracote candidate? 2 tone SSV

That's what I was thinking of course it would probably take me a while to complete as I would have to find the internals. I mean it would be a franken gun so not much value if I were to resell down the road if not to my liking.

And of course while browsing gb again today found the gun busters seller and they have a 915 parts kit. So now worse case would be $360. If I can sell the complete 915 slide for $125 then I'm back to $235. Say I buy the 6904 for $224 I'm up to $459. Now I could have 2 guns for the price of one and still have a spare frame to swap back and forth, or I can try to sell the 6904 frame for $125 and be back to $334.

I know this just a 3rd gen dream as I'm sure last minute I will be outbid for both even though I did bid my max pretty high even for what the parts are worth.

You could have asked for a group buy!!!!

Problem with buying a 5906 is now the bar has been set by the "one that got away". He is a nice guy though and I don't blame him for keeping it. He doesn't need the money or the space. Bought it new and never fired it. As I told him, I would have kept it too!

I stand corrected there are 59 mags left. I had left the 65 original number in my cart and was trying to add on to that. For around 9 bucks a mag after ship and cc fee you can't beat that price even if you don't have a 5906. Remember these will fit the 5903, 5904, 5926, 5946, 5943, 6906, 6904, 6926, 6946, and some of the other odd numbered 5900 and 6900 series.

4043 at Cabela's in Nobelsville for 459. Showed typical holster wear but look pretty clean with 2 mags and a holster. They called it excellent.

    Then again it's cabelas......
Less then 11hrs on the 5906 frame and 915 parts kit I'm bidding on. So far I'm in at 210ish.

Also 14 5906 mags left. The 20 or more discount is over though you can still get them for 10.95 a piece if you buy more than 10.

5906 mags will fit a Model 59 and a Model 59 mag will fit in a 6906 (obviously sticks out 1/2 and inch) and a 659...

Well, I'm back after a timeout... In the meantime, I've been on a bit of a buying spree, since I couldn't post the good deals for you all to scoop up. Picked up a 909, 411, 908 two-tone and one of the 5906TSW's from Sportsman Outdoors. Picked up a 22A locally today even. I've got a 4053TSW on the way soon too.

Thanks for posting that mag deal, I picked up 10 of the 59xx mags. For what it's worth, I posted over on the S&W forum, but MidwayUSA has 59xx grips on sale, the curved model, or at least they did the other day.

All I need is the 5906 recoil guide rod and spring and my 915/5906 build will be complete at a cost of about 350. I do plan on keeping an eye open for a 6906/4 or 3913/4 complete slide assembly as I would like to make this Franken gun a ssv.

I've been on a CZ kick lately which included a PCR. I'd like to think that if Smith & Wesson had developed a Fourth Generation 59 series with modern production capabilities and alloys it would be a direct competitor.

Can't imagine they would produce an all metal non-1911 again but what would you look for in a 4th gen? Top of my list would an exposed back strap for better grip options similar to 2nd gens.
