Same here. For some reason, I am not a big fan of commander 1911's, but that new E is super sexy.

Mine is my favorite gun. Granted I have never owned a high-end custom.

They have a couple things some may have issue with (I don't):

• They use a full-length guide rod.
• The have an external extractor.

WHY, S&W, has used that for YEARS ..... I bought my 59, 9mm, in 1979, and haven't had one problem... Same thing, with my 645, bought in around 2000, or so .....

Have a Pro Series 9mm 1911....dream to shoot! My favorite gun I own. Shoots better than my Ed Brown and STI 9mm.

ive have only very good luck with smith 1911's. i would put them aginst a sig or kimber any day.
