    A "traditionalist" who wants a 100% true to issue 1911 would tell you the external extractor is an abomination and should not be considered a true 1911. The truth of the matter is, many 1911 fans and experts have agreed that the external extractor is a superior design to the internal.

    Love the tradition and the idea of old school equipment....that said I don't want to drive a Model T everyday. Perfectly happy with improvements.

    That's a good point.

    Similar argument to extractor is full length guide rod or not... Both work fine in my experience.
