As a landlord, I realize I've missed an opportunity. When it's time to renew the lease, I'm going to add a Prima Nocta clause.

How about a transcript, at least of the entertaining parts?

I assume that a) there is no longer a threat of eviction, b) the tenants are looking for another apartment, and c) you are considering filing charges for them rifling (pun intended) through your stuff?

Wow, I'd really hate to see your buddy's landlord's reaction to the evil rifles in my apartment.

Heck, the amount of ammunition alone would probably be enough for them to think I was planning a mass extinction of the apartment complex.

I'm sure that there are people in my apartment complex that have me pegged. My truck doesn't hide well......:dunno:

Inspection? What is this, government aid housing?

I work in property managment and we have the right to inspect any of our properties every 3 months according t the lease. We just check for damage and such, never open peoples stuff. Personal belongings are beyond the scope of our inspections

My complex is very good about posting notice that they'll need access to do inspections. My dog would have a BIG part to do with this. They refuse to enter the apartment unless she's crated, which I only do when they are coming. :rockwoot:

I'm pretty sure they have to notify tenants before an inspection by law. The law may also specify what an "inspection" can cover.

Poking around in your underwear drawer, or opening a closed rifle case, are surely out of bounds.
