Ok....... So I am the only looser here who has never been to the ocean.

I have been to lakeshore drive in Chicago. The water is so huge that you can't see the other side. There are boats bigger than city blocks floating around and they look like specs because they are so far away. The water is so big that it makes it's own weather. What am I missing? does the ocean look any different?
The deeper the water is the grayer it is in color. You havent lived until you have been on a USN Aircraft Carrier and hit a whale with it at the mouth of the Med! :D (1995 USS Theodore Roosevelt CVN-71) or mowed down a dividing pole in the suez canal or seen sea snakes slithering over each other atop the water in the indian ocean.

Lived in Commiefornia for 6 years. Could look out my window and see the Farallon Islands and beautiful sunsets when it wasn't foggy.
