Just because a person owns a computer, doesn't mean they know how to use it. Some people just can't figure it out.

This describes me to a t, I have a hard time with computers if its other than clicking icons. let alone figuring out how to post a picture, have a site to host the pic so It can post it...etc.

For crying out loud...I had to ask how to ,give someone cred for a post on this site and I have been on here for years!

People put to much importance on pictures. If I have an expensive item I try to post a pic but honestly it's a PITA to take a decent pic, download to computer, post on host site and then post in the ad. It's really bad when people ask for pics of a magazine or a box of ammo. C'mon guys, really? If people don't want to believe my description of a magazine or box of 308 they can just buy it elsewhere. I try to be as honest as possible and give as much pertinent info as I can in my ads and frequently don't post pics. But you can't please everyone. I've had ads with plenty of pics and will still get "got any more pics?". I think some people just like to look at the pics and dream of buying stuff. Oh and another thing, some of the pics ppl post are useless anyways. :twocents:

I will politely add that.... it is truly to the SELLERS advantage, to post a pic or two of the item being sold.

I have seen ads where the seller does NOT post a pic, then bumps the ad in a week or two.... and DROPS THE PRICE.

SELLERS: Obviously it is your choice to add pics or not; however, you may have sold that item at your original asking price, on day one, if there had been a pic in your ad,

I agree completely especially at the prices these guys are asking right now. I look in the adds and end up at the LGS to but NIB as it is far less expensive. The prices I am seeing for used is idiotic. At least let me see why a very used RIA 1911 is worth $150 more than a new one.

Don't need a host site, just save to your profile's album, click on it and past URL
    in your ad.

BTW, crappy pics (out of focus, poor lighting or your funky feet in the pic) should mandate a 10-15% discount ;)

I have been perusing the classifieds lately, just looking for something different. If an add has no pics I pass on it. I figure sure some poor soul out there "might" not have the ability or skill to post a pic. But I have a lot less faith in my fellow man especially with all the new people joining. Not having a pic for an item that costs several hundreds of dollars is not worth my consideration. I laugh when the ad says "no pic looks just like all the other XX's".

So after going through all the ad's with no pics and also discounting the silly overpriced ad's, I ended up buying a new gun from Fort Liberty. Normally the classifieds can be a source for a good deal, lately its been more a source for comic relief.

C'mon. Admit it. You're looking for gun porn.

Another thread complains about raising the post count to put a WTS ad in because people don't understand that INGO'ers expect low prices.

Now you want gun pics. For an unfired stock firearm?

If you really want to buy it, you'll call/pm them and then meet face to face. Otherwise, if it just interferes with your surfing style....

Just expect reasonable from people on a gun forum. INGO is a community for gun enthusiasts with a classifieds ad's section as a added feature for the community. INGO is not a classifieds ad's site, try Gunbroker or one of the other commercial sites for that crap.

So, you don't want ad's, but if you did, you'd want pics.

    That's insane.

Ha Ha WTH? Are you drinking this early in the day? I didn't say anything about not wanting ad's. The classifieds are a perk for the community, not the mainstay of the forum. And should be treated as such. It is not there for people to run an underground business, etc...

Almost every gun forum has a want ads section. INGO is not unique. And to say that it is indicates that you may not be aware of how many other sites are actually out there. They all are communities. All of us who shoot and love guns are part of that community. Your view is just that: your view. Most sites want more members and if you discourage them because they don't fit with your world view, then you need an attitude adjustment.

And since I don't drink, I won't return your insult with something like: "you slimy elitist hipster". No, I won't do that.

    Well, yeah.
But I will second the notion that we don't need a bunch of rape artists signing up.
They can sell the $1000 PMags somewhere else.

Like on those "other" gun sights.
(I don't believe these actually exist, I'm just humoring you.)

Are you even reading my posts? Where exactly did I say that INGO was unique? We should just stop this dialog now because you are pulling ideas out of somewhere else other than the posts I am writing. I was joking about you drinking, sorry if it hit a nerve.

No nerves were harmed by your posting.

If you look up Indiana Gun Owners on Google, the first thing the search yields is:
    Sell, Buy and Trade here!

So........let's just leave it at that. If INGO advertises it first in the que, it is intentional.
