    If the Earth is spinning to the East, how is it that the clouds usually head in an easterly direction and not westerly? Wouldn't Earth spinning to the east logically make the clouds/Jet Stream/ocean elevators/etc move to the west?

    Depends where you live. Hurricanes start on the west coast of Africa and end up in Cuba.

    But, bathtubs drain counterclockwise here and clockwise in Australia, or maybe that's the other way around.

    Oh, and the earth is 25,000 miles in diameter and spins once in 24 hours, so that's >1,000 mph at the equator.
