I walked in about 6:10 to the Cadiz Christian Church with the wife. We waited for about 5 minutes and voted. It took us about 2 minutes to vote and we were out of there.
There were quite a few people there, this morning (about 8.30). Seems like this was about the same time I voted in 2010. I vote in a little, 2 machine, precinct and there was a line when I got there and a line when I left. In 2010, I don't remember as "big" a turnout.
Got to the polling place this morning 2 minutes after they opened up.
The line was already snaked outside the building. Probably 100 people in front of me? 45 minutes from time in, to time out.
No Obama signs in front of the school where I vote (Lake Prairie School/West Creek Township/rural Lake County). Nobody working for the Democrats working the polling area at all this morning. But back in 2008 there were Obama signs dotting the street in front of the polling place when I went to vote and a posse of Democrats passing out buttons, stickers, and literature. In fact I've not seen ANY of his signs in yards anywhere in my area. Bumper stickers are pretty rare out here too.
When I go to my daughter's school in Chicago Heights (Illinois) there are plenty of Obama bumper stickers on cars, but again, far fewer than in 2008. Seems like 50% or more of the cars in the Marian Catholic parking lot in 2008 had Obama stickers on them, this year I'm seeing maybe 20% of the cars with Obama bumper stickers.
I'm feeling pretty good about Obama singing his swan song.
Wife voted this morning at 6:50 and had a 40 minute wait. That is NOT typically,.. usually in and out in under 10 minutes. I am voting this afternoon with my son. He is driving back from ISU this afternoon so he can vote for his new Commander-in-Chief.
Same here.... that hour wait was VERY unexpected. Usually when we show up, they are still setting up the machines and there's not a soul around except the poll workers and us. We figured 10 or 15 minutes wouldn't make a difference. Holy Moly!!
Went to the school it was at. Very long line of cars for a spot. It was a small elementary school. Finally got a spot and went inside. I am 19, and I got lots of smiles form the older folks there. I didn't see anyone young there. Got to my table, and the checked my ID, and the lady said "Are you sure you can vote? You look young?" and gave me a weird look. I don't think she was sarcastic. I couldn't tell. Anywho, I voted and left. In and out in about 15 minutes.
no problems in Paragon. Got there about 7:40. Waited about 15 min. By then the line was out the door. No problems. I voted one way and my wife cancelled out all my votes. Or vice versa.
Line was too long at 6am here in Fishers for me to make my first meeting. Had to bolt. Been in line 50 minutes now, looks like around another 45 minutes to go before I'll be voting.
7:55 north hammond. Held the door open for the lady walking out. Gave the guy with the roles my ID, he handed my ID to the lady with the other half. She found my name, I signed in. Was escorted by another guy 5 feet and handed off to a young girl that put a plastic card into the unoccupied of the two machines. Voted. Thanked everyone as I walked out. All of 4 minutes maybe.
