Watched Joe Rogan's show with Anthony Cumio. Anthony explains the origin of the "Proud Boys", how it was a joke, an over-the-top parody of a men's club for the radio.

... that slowly mutated... got more members... got a uniform...

Gavin went from starting a joke to being banned from entering Australia.

Once "antifa" started showing up to protest Gavin's events... there was no way pulling it back. People associated "Proud Boys" with the "-fa", as though they were really fascists.

Joe goes on to say when you have a group, any group, where anyone can join... a number of those people are going to be idiots. And your group will always be associated with those worst people.
