Other than the doctor or aspirin, name one industry that doesn't have those other overheads?

How many hospital associations can you name that are not 'nonprofit'

How do you reconcile your disgust with the 'gospel of prosperity' with the blind eye you turn upon such hospital associations? At least the other industries have share holders that they theoretically have to answer to

Well, here in town we have Parkview which touts their non-profit status, yet are rolling in cash, then we have Lutheran which is owned by a company in TN I believe.

Like I said, half of this town is a for-profit healthcare, which pays shareholders, the other half just spends money on naming rights for everything they can.

Money in healthcare is a mess, but that's not for the reasons in that joke, but (partially) for all the consequences of having a payer who isn't the customer, and the other things HM listed.

We're a capitalist society, so I don't bemoan if a non-profit is having to pay $$$$ to hire top quality executives, or paying to get politicians to understand their issues, or paying to have a nice working environment for employees.

As to my disgust for prosperity gospel, that's not really relevant. That's textbook scripture twisting and ignoring the first question of the Westminster Catechism. Now show me what catechism non-profit hospitals follow?

I think what you want is a Giant Meteorite. A meteor is just the flash of light in our atmosphere. If it hits the ground it then becomes a meteorite.

    Where's my Denny?

Obviously there's not room to spell out Meteorite. I'll allow it. Denny denied.
