I am surprised how soft the plastic is in my Kahr PM 40. A lot softer than any other plastic gun I have.

Is it soft, or is it thin? Big difference.

I never claimed that it's bad or somehow wrong because it's new. I never claimed that it's bad or somehow wrong because I don't like it. And all of your ridiculous analogies are getting old. I'll just give in and agree with you. Polymers are GREAT. I want to buy a car with an engine made completely of polymer. Crankshaft, pistons, camshaft, valves and heads. Because it must be better than steel, right? Let's make everything out of polymer.

And you're completely missing the point of the analogies.

No one is suggesting that barrels, slides, slide rails, receivers, firing pins, etc, etc, ad. nauseum be made of polymer.

But to deny the advances in polymer technology in firearms and firearms related industry has been anything but an engineering boon to both manufacturer and consumer is, in my opinion, goofy.

We get it. You, for some reason that I personally can't understand, don't like polymer framed handguns. And that's ok. Your opinion is your opinion.

Glocks have been around since 1982 and are used by 62% of the law enforcement agency's in the US. Seems they are more than just a passing fad of polymer material

cars used to be made out of steel... now show me a new car with a steel bumper... I agree that some things should not be made from plastics like when Winchester tried to use nylon in their pump action, but some carbon polymers have the strength of metals... it's called technology... a rock used to be the weapon of choice until some one discovered the club... then the spear... then the bow... and so on....

Polymers aren't appropriate for all applications. Citing inappropriate applications to argue against them is simply nonsensical.

I also find it amusing that you argue against "ridiculous analogies" by making one of your very own...

I like metal frame guns for their beauty, heft and tradition. But Glocks are what I choose for my working guns. Polymer framed handguns have proven their durability, reliability and ease of maintenance. I'd pick any proven polymer frame handgun (Glock, XD, M&P, HK) any day of the week over any metal frame gun for everyday carry.

I have a glock 23 and a threaded barrell sig mosquito. I really like both of them. Have carried the flock more than any other gun I have. Dead reliable and great shooter.
