    INGO friends,

Since my buddies aren't really into shooting and my wife doesn't get it at all, I'm reaching out to you all as a sounding board. I was in WalMart today over lunch and right as I was walking up to the counter, they walk out with a BNIB Bushmaster AR-15. Been wanting an AR-15 for a long time, but have been trying to hold out for a Colt 6920 or 6720.

Asking price $950. I decided to walk away and save my $$$ for when Colts come back around. But man I'm really thinking I should have picked it up.

Thoughts? Did I just make a big mistake here?

Thanks for the thoughts; I really appreciate being part of the :ingo: community

No big deal. Keep checking that Wal-Mart, sooner or later they will get more 6920s back in stock. Then you'll know what to do....:D

I left left a local Walmart and they had a cart full of rifles : 5 Marlin rifles, 3 Unmarked and 1 Bushmaster AR. Some guy was already grabbing the Bushmaster. Oh well. But good news, if it's true, according to guy behind counter "Walmart is starting to ship ARs back to stores." He said they should have some M400's, Colts, Windhams in soon.:dunno:

I did the opposite of you today. Should have walked but I didn't... Oh well.
Not the first time I've had gun buyers remorse

Luckily for you there is a cure for that right now... GunBroker. Anything and everything seems to be selling for at least a 10% premium over what the OTD price is...

So you can get your scratch back and make some one happy in the process!!

If you're going to spend that kind of money, don't settle for something other than what you really want. You did the right thing. Be patient. Decide what model you really want and try to find the best deal you can.

You did the right thing: "Hey wife, guess what I got for valentines day? A $1,000 gun I wasn't planning on!!!!!"

Yeah, you'd be on the couch for a week.

Well said... she knows I'm looking for a Colt in that price range but nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" like wiping out the checking acct.

Is there really a difference between a Colt and a Bushmaster? I cant speak about the last ,say 10 years quality. But I bought a couple of each several years ago, and actualy one of the Bushmasters out shoots the Colt all day long. Both function flawless, quality seems equal. Only difference was price.
I was like you back in the day, had to have that Colt.

^^^^ Well said. I went thru the same thing some time ago. Always wanted a Colt SAA and every time I save the cash to a point I ended up buying two other brand single actions. Sure my collection grew, but I still had the open spot in the safe where the Colt should have been. I finally saved up, held out and found my dream Colt SAA. It even turned out I found one $400.00 less than the market price. Be patient, lot's of Colt AR-15's out there, one will come your way and when it does you will be glad you did. :yesway:
