If it wasn't for Goshen College I doubt if your mayor would have been a Democrat (with a man bun)
That city hasn’t had a conservative mayor in my memory. If there was it goes back a ways. Luckily they still have enough districts with R city counsel reps to keep things in check a little bit.

Goshen has always had multiple cultures. However in my personal opinion the last 45 years they have bent over backwards to cater to one whether legal or not. I sold my last rental property there in Jan. ‘19. I go back for medical, church and that is about it.

I went to school with some of the kids whose parents were profs. there, they ended up liberals too
I cant say much At home or family gatherings as that all represents my wife’s original religion and upbringing. Her sister is a proud graduate of Goshen College. Uncles, cousins, still greatly invested in it.

I probably should have waited for tomorrow to grocery shop, but I went and it is done. Went to the produce guy first and got sweet corn, tomatoes, green beans, zucchini, cantaloupe and cucumbers. Got cherries, lettuce, apples... pretty sure we are good on fresh stuff for the week. I got other stuff too but stores and traffic were busy.

NW in Ukrainian, Ukrainian Orthadox (?) church. Used to run around a wee bit with a guy from there late 60’s .

Couple years ago at the hospital for multiple tests 3 of the nurses & a tech were Ukrainian.
