    Same thing happened at our old house once.

    Went out after the storm passed, the cast iron storm drain was in the middle of the road and the concrete was busted to junk.
    My biggest lightning fear is for these big trees we have. When I was about 5 years old, Mom and I were watching a storm through the picture window. Mom started to say, "Wouldn't it be something if lightning struck that big cherry tree?" She only got out, "Wouldn't it be something if lightning" and WHAM! Lightning struck the cherry tree! I said, "Do that again Mommy!" :):

    That cherry tree got struck a second time when I was a teenager watching the house for Mom and Dad while they were in Florida. That one took it the rest of the way down.
