Not that organized in the flower beds yet here. Fall comes and we try and remember where the bare spots were and pitch some perennial seeds or bulbs in those spots. Pitched out some Japanese iris seeds this spring and I have no idea if they'll germinate or not but we shall see.

My beds are small and quite quaint, but it's what I have. They surround the house about 4 to 6 ft deep to the walls. Soil is basically concrete mix without the cement. Trying to fix that with every hole I dig.

I've not tried to grow any of the Asian varieties from seed. I have only bought or traded for the rhizomes to get the big fancy ones.

I did find a small stand of native Indiana irises once in late summer, woods area.
I took two pods for myself and scattered about forty more around the area.

I had five or six of those seeds come up first year and were still there making a statment twenty yrs later when we had to move.

Good luck with your Japanese seeds.
Be patient. Some seeds take more than one winter cycle to germinate.

After I retire, I have some furniture to get rid of. One is an old home entertainment center that I have manuals, printer, extra monitor sitting on. The other is one of the old computer hutches. I don't think either one would be in much demand now... so not sure if i chop it up and put a bit in the trash each week. I am afraid they will smoke if I burn them.

I would not burn them. Let that happen far away from where you intend to breathe.

Donate if possible or set them beside the curb for a day or so before hammering them to pieces small enough to fit in your dump bins.

They still make decent shelves if you have some of that to do. I would always try to reuse rather than just discard.

If they are typical "import" particle board like 99% of those things are, they will do more than smoke. They will smoke ugly and toxic.

One sounds pretty big, though. Donating might be a hassle.

They are both extremely heavy items.

We had to empty our son’s house after his death last year. My wife made arraignments with someone at Goshen City to pick up some items. If I recall you are allowed 1 item to be picked up twice a month. Preplanned for certain day. Put it on curd night before and they pick up sometime that day. I can ask my wife for clarification or am sure you can find out from city.
