Found the weirdest thing walking the dog.
A lot of people live in this berg! I'm guessing this fell out of a pocket while someone was stripping off a jacket or something.
It's a '62 one penny coin from Great Britain.
It's been a while since I was active in numismatics, but these older ones are 90%+ copper, I think.
About the size of our Kennedy half dollar.
Probably a worry/fidget item for someone. One side is worn and shiny, Liberty side. Other queen side, about as dull as you would expect 60 year old copper to be.
I have no way to return it. Putting it back in the grass won't work.
Finders, keepers? I feel kind of bad for who ever lost it.
How long have they been wearing down their thumb wishing for Liberty?
