We went out on Saturday morning. We always see a lot of does and we didn't see anything.

About 10:30, the biggest coyote I have ever seen came out with a female. They worked their way around for about 30 minutes and left.

That thing looked like a wolf.

Shot a decent 8 pt at 50 yards this past Saturday, shot him at Hoosier national forest. I have pics of him and from where I shot him to my stand. Took out both lungs. Carbon knight, maxims reds, and rage hypodermics did great. Didn't get a pass through at that distance but entry hole was huge and he only ran about 70 yards

Got out Saturday Night. Knew if I didn't arrow one by 6:45 I shouldn't shoot anything due to time constraints on Sunday Monday. Coyote bedded down the lane from me bout 100 yards away the entire time I sat in natural blind. It came in 15 minutes after I got there. Did not have fawn bleat or I would have tried to bring him in. Saw many deer....driving home.

Taking a day off. Sitting in one of my stands now. No scouting done in this area just hoping to get lucky. Sitting here is better than sitting at my desk for sure

No luck but did talk to new land owner that has a very small piece next to the land that I hunt and he gave me permission to park there which will save me a lot of time coming and going from my stand and if I get lucky, dragging a deer out.

Pretty quiet evening now that the wind has settled down.

I'm on camera and coyote detail this evening. Just had a pack of yotes light up 100 yards behind us but we don't have a call to try and coax them out.

Had a fawn walk about 5 yards away at 4:30. At 7:15 I had just hung up with my son calling from Basic at Fort Benning and a nice little 1.5yo 8 pointer walks up the trail about 50 yards.

    Snapped this pic around 7:00

Had a real nice sit this evening. Weather was perfect, lots of small game running around everywhere. Had a doe appear out of nowhere about 12 yards from my stand. She kept looking back and wasn't very big so I waited to see if something better was coming along but never did. She didn't present me with another shot but it was cool watching her from a distance for a half hour or so.

Saw 4 small bucks this evening. One loner and 3 in a group. Jumped one large doe on the way to stand.

No deer spotted on my evening hunt. The land owner was burning a lot of brush and filled the whole valley with smoke though. Should be getting better in a week or so! Good luck all!

We aren't planning to call for the coyotes while deer hunting. If they happen by I'll take them but deer hunting is the priority right now. If we both kill our bucks then we may spend some time focusing on the coyotes. We have the trapping gear on stand by, once we are out there to stay and can check the traps as required by law we'll get them set.

Just got home from riding along with my brother on an elk hunt in wyoming. Got out this evening for the first time since opening weekend. Had 2 fawns, a spike, and 2 does come in right under me @ 6:30. Hung out for half hour. Lotsa eyeballs on me and one of the does winded me but didnt bolt. My bow felt like it weighed 100 pounds by the time they wandered out of sight

Went out Sunday and got skunked. We were walking to the Jeep and jumped two does.

This property definitely has the does. I am just hoping that will bring in a buck come rut time.

If you got the does the bucks will be there, its just a matter of time.... They just ain't ready yet... Give it another two weeks and then see what happens.. ;)
