Get a grip, nothing ever gets done in Washington. Every administration spouts empty promises, empty threats and leaves the country with a larger national debt when they are done. Business as usual, as you were, carry on.

Yep, he is advocating, or rather dictating, federalism. He is saying the feds deserve unlimited power for the good of the people. More than Socialism, I see it as federalism, but the two are definitely not mutually exclusive. He cannot achieve socialism without first eroding both the constitution and state's rights.

Either way the message is clear. His priorities are raising taxes further, spending more money, protecting entitlements, and passing his proposed gun control. Speaking down his nose to individualism certainly isn't an example of promoting personal liberty. This was a very socialist sounding speech. No need to decode anything.

There was also the part where he said something very much like this: "We must cut the deficit...BUT, we cannot diminish social (welfare) programs that people rely on". At least Obama is open about his strategies. The sad thing is that not enough voters are smart enough to interpret his clear speech.

Fair enough. I meant that he supports a very strong federal government, and intends to weaken state's rights. This is not surprising since the liberals support big federal government, which is necessary to maintain their social justice programs nationwide.

Cold Fear is perhaps dramatical, but did not mean it in a sense of cowardly fear but of a warning kind of fear!
