So we can all agree that this story is incorrect and Obama did not use teleprompters to address a class of elementary school children?

Good, I shall attend to other threads then.

Usually I take this as a sign of surrender.

Take it as a sign of someone who sees through your BS - snide comments on others' posts without risking your own opinions. I'll defend my positions as long as someone wants to discuss and I'll do it without getting personal - but I'll call a troll a troll, when he acts like one.

Make a liar out of me by engaging with substance. Or don't you have the guts?

The troll came after two snide comments without any followup on the points I made. Gutless.

"For all I know, he may be filled with marshmellows, cotton candy, kittens and butterflies. What's evil is a core philosophy that has been responsible for more death, oppression, sadness and poverty than any other philosophy in history, though Islam comes close."

"I don't care a bit whether Obama uses teleprompters or not. It's trivial BS, especially in light of the large amount of damage that has been wrought in one short year. The irritating thing is the double standard. Bush is supposedly a blithering idiot because he is prone to verbal gaffes, even though his resume speaks for itself regarding his intelligence, whether you like his policies or not. Obama has made some very large stupid verbal mistakes himself, and Biden shows Dan Quayle's wildly overblown mistakes to be the press construct they were. It's just that Obama is supposed to be this amazing light-footed verbal genius, but he has shown himself to be very ordinary in this regard without teleprompters, but of course that's a non-issue to a worshiping press.

And BTW, are you really claiming that the media is not left-biased?"

I'm not going into a discussion about the marshmallow innards of Obama. I have not seen any X-Rays of Obama's insides so I'm not well versed on the subject.

As for your opinion that his evil core philosophy that is almost as bad as Islam. That's a pretty broad statement. You're comparing his policies and philosophies to a religion that claims about 1.6 billion people. I'm assuming you're equating it with the extremist part of Islam. However, any religious extremists should be considered dangerous.

I'm assuming you also have a problem with the Catholic and Protestant rift that helped spawn the IRA and the Orange Volunteers, or the anti semitic Romanian Orthodox fascists, or the Lord's Resistance Army of Uganda, or the Jewish Defense League?

Let's not forget about God in the Old Testament, guy was pretty mean.
I mean look at these quotes from the bible!

"They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman." (2 Chronicles 15:12-13 NAB)

"All who curse their father or mother must be put to death. They are guilty of a capital offense." (Leviticus 20:9 NLT)

This sounds fair and just!-"When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property." (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)

"At the LORD's command, a man of God from Judah went to Bethel, and he arrived there just as Jeroboam was approaching the altar to offer a sacrifice. Then at the LORD's command, he shouted, "O altar, altar! This is what the LORD says: A child named Josiah will be born into the dynasty of David. On you he will sacrifice the priests from the pagan shrines who come here to burn incense, and human bones will be burned on you." (1 Kings 13:1-2 NLT)

As for Obama vs George W Bush's speaking styles? I think Obama is a better speaker, certainly his speeches attract very large crowds. But that is a matter of opinion, so I'll just agree to disagree I guess?

I think the media is left and right biased. Guess what? News channels survive off of advertisements so they have to target a demographic for viewership. I'll agree that MSNBC and CNN are more left wing than Fox. But Fox most certainly has a similar agenda as well.

You managed to say a lot of things, but almost nothing about my points which were:

    1. The teleprompter issue illustrates a double standard.
    2. Socialism, from which Obama's policies spring, has a history of producing evil in this world, like Islam.
    3. I absolutely meant Islam, though there are extremists, one of which by any standard was Mohammed himself. Islam has always been an expansionist and enslaving religion.
    4. Finally, I challenged you on the media's leftist bias, which you implied does not exist.

I find your quotes from the Bible irrelevant without further explanation. If you'd like me to concede that Christianity has been misused for evil, I concede. Yet Islam's oppression springs not from its misuse, but from it's core philosophy.

As to the Catholic and Protestant conflict, you could point to many, many conflicts between Islamic sects.

My point was to attack Islam's effect on the secular world. Questions of religion interest me very little. Not being religious myself, or particularly interested, I'll leave that to the theologians.

You still haven't addressed my points, you just used my points as a jumping off place, and you also snidely trivialized the issues I brought up.

Alright, what's with this double standard with teleprompters? Both use them, I personally believe Obama is a better speaker (I think its his sexy and deep voice but that's just me), but people call out gaffes that each president have made. People on the left call out Bush for his oratory mistakes and people on the right call out Obama on it. Are some more hesitant to critique a president on his speaking abilities because they agree with them on politics, uhm..... yea.

I quoted the parts in the bible the quotes came from, if you need context on how to explain away slavery and human sacrifice. I personally struggle trying to justify burning people alive for any reason and the same goes with selling them into slavery.

Ok so you're telling me that Islam came about as a result of socialist policies? Uhm, I disagree?

Look at these socialist quotes from the Bible!

If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell what thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come and follow me. (Matthew 19:21)

Here's someone hating on some rich guy:

Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. (Matthew 19:24)

This is starting to sound more like communism than socialism! GASP!

I addressed the liberal media bias already.

    Ron,

    Seriously, who is John Galt?

Ever read anything by Ludwig von Mises?

Do you agree with the vision of our founding fathers?

What policies or lack there of shaped this country into the most powerful nation in the history of this world in 200 years?

Does Obama's policies square with that of our founders? Are his policies that of which made us the most powerful nation on earth?

ron, I think it is because the few times we have seen him without them, he has shown his level of knowledge and intellect.

    Yup; he's only a Constitutional-law lawyer.

Absolutely correct, it's not as though you have to go to law school or anything for... aw, wait.

I'm not a fan of his policies, but it's not like the man is a chimp.
I don't do well with public speaking, either... and I'm not a lawyer, so right now, he's got one up on me.

But that will all change when I get into office. :):

Going to law school doesn't mean anything.
    Show me his transcripts.
Show me some proof he wasn't anointed his titles.
How did he make into Harvard in the first place?
Anyone can attain a title, the respect for that title comes from your works.
    What has he done?
