Obama and his teleprompters...

Would you prefer him to just look in one direction? When I have to speak in public I occasionally turn my head in other directions to make sure I look at more members of the audience.

Finally, I see no problem with a man being unable to memorize hours of speeches every week. The man is arguably the most powerful man in the world and I have no problem with him using a teleprompter if it means he can focus his attention elsewhere. Some might not agree with this since they think he is the spawn of hell and would rather have him distracted with frivolous matters like reciting speeches from memory. Also, I doubt rote learning is a true test of intellect and talent, but perhaps you can prove me wrong with some evidence to the contrary?

The guy can't or doesn't want to memorize pages upon pages of speech so that he can impress a small amount of people with the fact that he can recite some stuff from memory. I think it is funny how this is being continually brought up though.

I don't care a bit whether Obama uses teleprompters or not. It's trivial BS, especially in light of the large amount of damage that has been wrought in one short year. The irritating thing is the double standard. Bush is supposedly a blithering idiot because he is prone to verbal gaffes, even though his resume speaks for itself regarding his intelligence, whether you like his policies or not. Obama has made some very large stupid verbal mistakes himself, and Biden shows Dan Quayle's wildly overblown mistakes to be the press construct they were. It's just that Obama is supposed to be this amazing light-footed verbal genius, but he has shown himself to be very ordinary in this regard without teleprompters, but of course that's a non-issue to a worshiping press.

And BTW, are you really claiming that the media is not left-biased?

You should really listen/watch his Q&A with Republicans lawmakers in Baltimore last Friday. Still can't believe how little coverage that received, it was really incredible to listen to, for people on both sides. Definitely restored my confidence in my Pres, but most people here have already made up their minds...
