    Can't recall who told jedi, maybe it was lonehoosier but our neck of the woods in terms of highway is the "end of the line" in terms of truckers being able to drive their regular hours before having to stop coming from the
    Why is this stretch of highway so hard?

    By the time they get to NWI they are tired and sleepy or racing against the clock to get to a piston. Thus a factor in more accidents

    Saw Eli Young band in crown point tonight, storms went north of us, looked kinda cool over the stage. Not a single drop of rain fell on us though. Woulda welcomed the cool off, just miserable muggy out there

    Why is this stretch of highway so hard?

    Because it's a 55mph speed limit, the construction zone east of 41 is a 45mph limit, and cars all want to do 80mph+ thru there, and truckers, who should damn well know better, try it at 70mph.
    If drivers maintained a medium level of lane discipline, it could still work moderately well, but the constant lane changing, and drifting without signalling, causes people to pound the brakes, slowing the overall flow, and causing numerous accidents.

    Here's a foreign concept.....do the speed limit, keep a safe following distance, and maintain your lane, and the collision rate would drop 80%.
