Back in the day (1970's-to around 2000 ?) in Valparaiso on RT 2 just south of RT 30 was Fetla's trading Post and had everything from junk to clothes-guns-ammo-boats-shoes-new and used ice skates.

I remember a wood barrel with SKSs in it (bayonets incl)- $79, circa 1996/7

Wasn't too long ago I bought a mosin bayo for $39 and they threw in a rifle.

Dont know if it's true. But I hear they are building a dicks sporting goods on rt2 by the movie theater. Anyone hear any truth to that.

They never changed the name of the store. Only the owner changed.

Are you sure it was the Valpo Fetla's you went to?

Yes. On RT 2 past smoke rd. Only one I ever went to. It was early summer of 06 first time I was there, but I had gone at least a dozen times after that. I want to say that last time I was there was in 07, but not in 08. I think they were closed by then

Northern Michigan is beautiful. My mom's family is from the Boyne/Petoskey area. We considered moving up there at one time, but there were no jobs for me either.
