Ok, I know nothing about shotgun shells. What's the difference between Herter's target rounds for $59.99/25 rounds and these Remington target rounds for $9.02/25 rounds? Remington 12-Gauge Premier Nitro 27 Handicap Loads 2 3/4 Inch 1 Ozs. 25 Rounds - 87938, 12 Gauge Shells at Sportsman's Guide

Quick lesson on shells, most shotguns will take a 2 3/4 inch shell and some a 3 inch shell. Need to see the specs for which shell your shotgun uses and get the right size. All sorts of different types of shells and there are others who can help you find what need with the different shells. Start out with the cheaper shells in smallest count to see how they work. 20 GA shotgun shells.

    Cabela's Ammo is called Herter's

There are 3 different 'flavors' of Herter's ammo.

Herter's = steel case ammo both in rifle and pistol calibers
(original way Cabela's introduced the ammo)

Herter's Select Grade = brass ammo both in rifle and pistol calibers
    (2nd introduction by Cabela's)

Herter's Aluminum Case = Aluminum cases for pistol calibers
    (3rd introdution by Cabela's)

The steel ammo is mainly made in russan and is Tulsa ammo (mainly) just rebranded for Cabela's.

The brass ammo is a mix of made in the USA and elsewhere. There is a plant owned by Fiocchi in Ozark, Missouri that makes some of the handgun calibers for Cabela's there. Rifle calibers I'm not sure where those are made.

The Aluminum ammo is re-branded CCI Blazer ammo made in the USA.

It's all good ammo and will work just fine in your rifles/handguns. I have shot the steel stuff in AKs, ARs, Heavy Scar, Mosin, M1 30 carbine, FAL and have had no issues with it.

Have not used the handgun calibers nor their brass stuff.

Hmm..Does Fetlas have any .223 brass for less than .40 a rd?

No clue I have never bought .223 ammo and was told at current prices this ammo was ok.
I only got it to shot it out of DK's mini 14 and to keep the brass.
Figured 120 rds of it allow me to shoot the mini enough to know if I want one or not.

I have some of that ammo. It has worked fine in my AR. I would just go to Fetlas if they had some ammo for that price.
