    TRAFFIC ALERT - U.S. 20, Gary:

U.S. 20 is closed in both directions, from Ripley Street (SR 51) to Old Porter Road. A sprinkler system break has flooded the roadway and it's freezing quickly. There's no word how long this will be closed, due to the temperatures.

Oh, BTW, Schererville Walmart has a buttload of Duck Dynasty Christmas crap (stockings, ornaments, etc.) on clearance for 75% off if anyone cares. And no .38 or .357 ammo. But if I hadn't gone looking for ammo, I would not have found this awesome hat sitting on a random shelf in the sporting goods dept.

I bit the bullet. Got a 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 with the Hemi. Trading in the Caddy was bitter sweet. Went from 7years old with 102,000 miles, and stuff nreaking monthly. To right off the truck with 19 miles and everything warrantied.

Never seen one. No salt either. Glad I only had to drive about six blocks after I got off from 65.

HowStuffWorks "Why do they use salt to melt ice on the road in the winter?"
"If the temperature of the roadway is lower than 15 F or so, then the salt really won't have any effect -- the solid salt cannot get into the structure of the solid water to start the dissolving process"

Woohoo! They just sent us home because there's no heat in part of the building. :woot:

    That must be nice. :oldwise:

Made the trip to outside Indy and back in 8 hours.
It was faster on the way back.
The sun warmed up stuff. I think salt in the road started to work, because they were a lot more clear.
