Refrigerator is working again just one burnt out compressor relay. On my way to the clubhouse to go celebrate that I didn't have to go buy a new refrigerator.

The new chicago oridnance does it not go against what the new IL law does/covers?
They are basically banning every modern firearm are they not?
So while you can CC you can own any modern weapon right?
    :dunno:

Oh pilgrim take a look at this baby!
Velocity Micro Intros AMD FX-9000 Powered Desktop

    CPU
The AMD FX-9590 has eight unlocked cores, a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz, a max turbo clock speed of 5 GHz, and 16 MB of L2/L3 cache.

    GPU
three eVGA GeForce GTX 780 3 GB GDDR5 cards to a single AMD Radeon HD 7950 3 GB GDDR5 video card.
    :WOW:

    Not impressed at all.
My $200 AMD FX-8350 achieves the exact same performance,
has the same number of cores,
    has same cache sizes,
uses half the wattage that the new CPUs use,
but yet, they are charging almost 4.5 times the price at $900 for it?

and not only that, but you can only buy it as an OEM part for an entire $3000 combo kit?

AMD has lost their minds.

Off course AMD has lost it's mind!
However you have an FX-8350 **NOT** an FX-9590 so you won't have the 'top of the line' CPU.
Now don't tell me you are one of those 'green freaks' that care about wattage!
I don't care if it needs a 2K power supply so long as it runs fffffaaaassssttttt so be it.
I'm a power snob and I will pay for my electricity thank you veyr much.
I don't want to be told I'm using too much power or to conserve energy f*** da!
So long as I pay the utility bill end of story. OK off that soap box.

Will the FX-9590 beat the Intel i7 however?
    :dunno:

oh no I don't give a crap about power usage.
I was just saying that since my CPU actually runs faster, why would I pay so much for something that is not as good but yet uses more power?
If it were to have at least a 1% performance increase, then that would be enough for me to buy it so I can have the "top of the line" CPU, but it doesn't have that at all.
In fact, I can go into my BIOS real quick and raise mine from 5.0 to 5.2. lol

I am waiting til the NVIDIA GTX 790's come out so i can get 2 of those or my next build.
As far as CPU's, gonna go Intel this time around.

I am probably gonna be selling my current rig sometime in the next 4-6 months.

    @pilgrim

yes i have been eyeing intel over amd for the cpu for the next build but those cpus cost way so much... i think i would rather spend more on the gpu then cpu. no game in the next few reals needs 5ghz of speed.

what i would rather spend more money on is a quad monitor setup.
