With the real world average combined city/hwy, then become $0.12 per mile for the SEL, and $0.11 per mile for the TDI. Though I have heard that the TDI's require even less maintenance than the gas Jetta's.

TDI = oil changes at 10,000 miles, can't recall any other routine maintenance.

Yeah, the SEL is oil change ever 10,000 miles, and new water pump ever 100,000 miles.
