45th through Highland and Griffith is heavily congested. Seems like traffic in the left lane is always coming to an abrupt halt due to someone making a left turn and then people make sudden lane changes to veer around it. It could use some modernization like adding left turn lanes and signals.

If we can modernize one thing, l'll take open road tolling over the dunes being able to accept credit cards.

That would be a major upgrade. Ohio is just about finished with their open road tolling project on the west end of their toll road. It will also become toll free from the Indiana state line to just west of Toledo.

Private Entities can Contract for Services from Local Law Enforcement or use Private Security

I noticed that Porter and LaPorte Co. deputies are now patrolling the toll road in those counties. Used to be exclusively ISP.

Even if they left the regular exit booths as they are and just did the across the road one in Portage, that'd be great. The FIPS(that's a misnomer since they're not actually people) and other out of staters make it a choke point all too often because they can't read.

Unfortunately I have three options driving from Kouts to Gary Works for work every day.

1)IN-8 to US-231 to I-65(frequently a nightmare, esp. right now) to US 20.

2)Weave my way through the side roads(I'd rather eat an elephant turd).

3) IN-49 to the toll road.

SOLD Can anyone in the Crown Point area use a half bushel of Red Haven peaches for freezing or canning? We bought a bushel to freeze because we got a good deal, but it's just too many. Normally $2.99/lb, $15 for the half bushel (25 lbs) if anyone can use them. They need to be picked up within a couple of days because I don't have a way to refrigerate them all. SOLD
