My Mother-In-Law passed away on Monday, June 20, 2022, she was 93 and passed in her sleep in the early morning hours. It was not unexpected, she had been in hospice while at home for a few weeks. She was mother to nine and had a multitude of "grands".

I am putting her obit here because it's possible that some of you may know part of my wife's rather extensive family.

Someone once gave her a cartoon with a picture of Wrigley field on it and the caption, "Mrs. Loomis, will you please come pick up your kids? They are beating the Cubs 5-0 in the fourth inning".

My father-in-law, myself, and four of their sons worked at Inland Steel.

The family is doing as well as can be expected and does not need anything right now.

    :(

    condolances

    4 hours of tree chopping.
    Done

    For the day.

    Only a couple hours today.
    And we're finished.

If only I didn't overdo it.
Now I'm on my pain pills and limping around.
We were moving one log, either trying to roll it over, or lifting to put a rope around it to pull it with the truck.
As my dad told me "don't hurt yourself", I was going to snap back "I know what I'm doing."
But, then my back let me know to STOP.
So, I shut my mouth, and stopped lifting.

Oh, and as if we didn't have enough to do, we had another dead tree looking like it was ready, so we took that one down also.
But that one fell mostly in the wood, minimal chopping.

I dunno, I've had a kidney stone procedure that might make your nuts suck up into your body cavity if I describe it fully. Thankfully I was asleep while it was inserted, but it was a huge surprise (not in a good way) when it was removed. You can try to imagine. But no, it is worse.
    yup

Sorry about your Mother-in-law Marvin. Sounds like a life well-lived though. That generation experienced fascinating changes in the world, throughout their life.

When my dad passed last year, he was ready to go meet his maker. He had gone from plowing behind a mule as a sharecropper's kid, to a retired ironworker living the dream on his own beautiful property down south.

Other than missing his presence, we really don't feel sad about dad being gone. He lived life right, much like your mother-in-law, I'm sure.
