    What's the recovery/rehab time for something like that?
    Six weeks in a sling. The first two weeks, no movement/motion. The next four weeks, lie on the bed and lift the arm with the opposite arm to start stretching the muscles and bend at the waist letting the arm hang while using the upper body to gently swing the arm in small circles. After six weeks about four months of physical therapy. The length depends on progress. It takes about 18 months to get full strength back.

    My brother is a retired orthopedic surgeon. One time while visiting him, he had to do Saturday morning rounds at the hospital so I tagged along with him. The x-rays of his surgical patients looked like the fastener aisle at ACE Hardware.
    I'm also looking at having my left big toe fused, probably by summer. This is what it will look like.
