    I watch the father in law walk around with bad knees. He's going to get both fixed right after the other next year, be out for like 8 months.

    But I don't think he takes care of them. 45 years of kneeling on concrete and rocks while fixing cars.

    I always pad my knees.

    Take care of yourself while you are working.

    Safety equipment is very important. Knee pads, hearing and eye protection are cumbersome, but will pay off.

    I laid hardwood floor for a year. Never wore knee pads, I would drop to my knees a hundred times a day. My buddy and I laid 800 sq. feet one day. We ran all day every day.

    There have been a lot of knees and hips replaced plus a few rotator cuff surgeries here at my plant over the past ten years. All of them were on guys 55 and older. Working in Production and Maintenance for 30-40 years takes its toll on the body.
