Looks like it's all unity, service and selflessness in Michigan City.

    Good riddance!
The war on drugs is nothing but a money grab. He states it himself in all that federal money they will lose.
We have been fighting the war on drugs since 1971, 48 f... years and still no victory. off course no victory. Too much $$$ to be made on both sides to end it.
In any case, see you j.b.t.

Jedi may be right on the 'war', but on a different subject, the chief thinks he can slide right back into his old job? Wonder how long that will last. At 27 years in, maybe the chief needs to consider retiring. I'm not saying he should, but it might be prudent.

    One step forward.
    Two steps back.
    Sigh.

    So, I'm on a 5 man cew.
We have 4 men "rated", and one "trainee".
So we're filling in for the missing man, and it's estimated the training will be finished in Feb for the trainee.
So, I can see the overtime dwindling in the future.
    :)

    Come in to work today.
Smiling because they canceled the "downturn" yesterday, so the double on my day off was canceled, so I went from a 72 hour week to a 56 hour week. Much better.

    But..
We can't have that. Good news. Nope.
Come in to hear how one of the crew was taken out by security and locked out.
    Sigh.
Could be back in a couple days. Might be "who knows".
    Sigh.

As Clint Eastwood might say, "I'll make a note"

p.s. Mr. Act, why'd your crew member get tossed?

    .

He apparently didn't want another double.
Told the boss he didn't feel well, which automatically kicks in a visit to the dispensary or hospital.
So, till he gets cleared by his doc AND the mill doc, he's locked out.
If they determine he made it up (earache), he could be disciplined.
Or, they could say an earache wasn't found, more tests are required. And he'd be gone for months.

Of course, there is the chance he's telling the truth.
    A chance.

Got my GPIW renewal notice today. Now that I live a little farther east, the MCRC is closer. I discussed it with the wife...we're thinking.

Well, I'm not gonna be one of those guys working 55 years here.
Those days might be coming to a close.
Hammer people with enough OT and they get tired of it, and hopefully they bank some of it.
Too many folks overextend themselves and depend on OT. Most aren't banking it.
