Good Wednesday morning and look at the full moon. Look out for the crazy people out there. One winner for the mega lottery in South Carolina and the daughter and SIL thought they would win. :lmfao:

The programming cable is iffy. I had to do some research to buy the right one.
    From the other thread.

Programming is easy with CHIRP. UNLESS... you bought a set of 888's. I found a massive bug with those. Chirp wont write to them properly. :xmad:

And the detailed bug report I submitted a couple months back has been dutifully ignored by the developers. :xmad:

And buy the "expensive" certified FTDI cable to program them. People trying to save $12 find out the hard way then end up wasting their money on the cheap cables, only to discover they dont work and have to throw them away.

It’s crazy they cost more then the radio.

did u buy the programming cable?

I haven't bought the cable since i dont have a computer at home. Gonna try the manual programming. Watched some videos and read some articles on it. Doesnt seem like itd be to bad, but will be a little time consuming

If it worked it should still work. It had to do with the make of the usb chip embedded in the cable and the drivers that were available for it.
