In the "old" days they would close a thread at 5000 posts because of database performance issues. After one of the upgrades they started letting them get bigger.

At some point one of the bully Mods will come and close it and start a new one for us.

Maybe because it's been said that some things are bigger in Texas.

As much as you guys raved about loving your Diesel VWs, I am curious as to why you didn't keep them.

With the software fix there is an unknown of reliability. Plus I get the Ford less than what my loan for the Jetta is so it was a no brainer. If I had gotten a tiguan tdi I would of taken that risk on the fix, but I needed a vehicle in order to get back and forth to work as I work nights and she works days. So, I didn't really have much time to shop around.

Were you being forced to get the new software?

I still have mine. A Jetta TDI.

Plan to keep it until the wheels fall off.

    Great little car!

    No.
Makes sense. I know I wouldn't have cared about the emissions test thing unless I actually would be failing a test.

On a semi related note, I am really liking my Golf R. I am still debating getting the APR tune though.

I thought you had a focus?

I turned my VW Passat TDI in because they paid me $9500. Paid off a ton of stuff and bought a cheaper Mazda 6 with more features than the Passat. Took a small hit on MPG but I'm ok with that.
