For the first time in several years I did not march with my VFW post in the Munster parade. In related news, my stomach no longer tolerates store-bought hamburger unless it's 80% lean mixed 50/50 with ground venison.

Thanks for sparing us the details. :toilet2:

I'm sure you coulda posted and gotten some volunteers. We might know some.
I thought about it actually. Last year there were fewer people in back at a time. This year they were more clustered.

I will ask Wednesday once we are all back to work. It was a good time, and it is always great to get new people shooting.

So I've been pondering this question a guy asked me while at the VFW on Saturday to drop off tickets and such. We started talking about guns as he had bought some tickets while I was there, and he told me he had a 92FS he was looking to trade for something slimmer or a compact 92. I asked him what he had all to go with it if he was looking to trade and he told me box, paperwork, 6 mags, some kind of skull engraved grips, and the original grips.

I told him I have a CZ85 and 75 and he asked if I wanted to trade. I told him the 75 would never go as it was made the year I was born and is from the land some of my ancestors called home. I tell him after some talking what I paid, about going to drakes to get coated a green/black combo, and that if I did trade it would only come with 2 mags. He still wanted to trade and gave me his number as I told him I would really have to think about this and it may be a few weeks or so till i got back to him.

I do have a 92F so upgrading to a 92FS with roughly 1k rounds through it would be a huge draw. I could sell the 92F for what I paid for the 85 and get another surplus to replace, or whatever I choose to get. I have been shooting right handed handguns for so long I have gotten use to the controls using my left hand and the 85 gone wouldn't be a big loss. I know I would be getting the better deal in the long run as the gun has been coated, and has only had a few cajun upgrades which if I wanted to as I did not mention anything about it could convert back to what I bought. The gun is also surplus so has the importer marking on it albeit in fine laser etching. I do have wood grips on. I would be putting the stock ones on as the grips are too nice and if I were to get another 75/85 then I could throw them on.

So what say you INGO if you were in my shoes would you trade straight across? Anything else you would do. I figure my value at this time would be roughly 425-475 while his should run around 475-525.

    yup.

Did you tell them it's one of them "evil" rifles people want to ban.
So they can see how silly it is.
Yep. Told them about people wanting to ban them, as well as the silly reported story.

A lot of them wanted a Tavor too. I had to explain to them that they couldn't own one as they lived in Cook County, which already had an "assault weapons" ban.
