Whew. SR 49 from SR 12 to the Toll Road.
"A major project here in the district became really active today. I am referring to the State Road 49 Resurfacing project in Porter County.
This is a 6.5 mile resurfacing/rehabilitation project that will run through the middle of August. Cones have gone up today and restrictions are in place. Restrictions are causing back up and delays. Rest assured, our crews are doing everything they can to lessen the traffic headaches but this is heavy traffic area. As the project continues and more work is accomplished, the length of lane restrictions will reduce greatly. In the meantime, to avoid delays and back ups you may want to avoid this route for a while. This will be a nice, newly improved stretch of road in a few months. That portion of SR 49 has simply reached it's lifespan and is now be rehabilitated. We appreciate your patience while work is in progress."
