    NWI Continuing Education-Kydex Workshop
    When: Sunday December 2, 2012
Where: NWI 46342 (Address will be PM'd to members attending the night before)
    Time: 12:30-20:00 Chicago/Central time.

I will be ordering supply's for this workshop. So I need a head count and what you want to make by Monday November 26, 2012 so I have enough to go around. All the supply's will be sold at cost. I will not make a dime off this.

This is a great opportunity to see how easy and cheep it is to make kydex holster. You will never pay full price for a holster again. For the cost of one holster you can get the tools and supply's to make your own. Most kydex holster can be made from $3.00 to $10.00

Things that can be made are IWB and OWB holster or mag pouches. You can also make knife sheaths and flashlight holders too.

Here's a list of supply's if you want to order your own stuff. It will also give you an ideal of what it will cost you to make your holsters. I will only sell the kydex in 12"x12" or 12"x24" sheets. It's up to you to use it wisely. Depending how good you are with the kydex you could possibly make 2 holsters with a 12x12 sheet or a holster and mag pouch.

I do have a hand setter but one more would be nice too have so there is no bottle necks.
As for hand tools we should be good. We could use a extra toaster oven and a heat gun depending on the number of people.

    Food
Please bring some kind of finger food to share if you can. We can order some pizza if we start to get hunger. You may want to bring some thing to drink.

We will be doing these in my garage. I do have a torpedo heater so dress in layers.

i am interested could i please get some more information about this workshop via pm?

I would like to answer all questions on here so people can see them. They may have the same questions. All you need to bring is what you want to make a holster for. Please have it unloaded before you show up. You may have your EDC on you just please keep it in the holster. This is not a show in tell. I will be making a new holster for my G19 with a TLR-1 light on it.

is there anyway i could buy the kydex off of you at the workshop instead of having to have it bought beforehand?

Yes you can buy it at the time of the workshop. Let me know how much you need or give me an ideal of what you want to make.

Just curious, but how long will this take?

(just want to warn the wife how long I'll be gone . . . she misses me when I'm away)

It depends on you and how many people show up. It takes me 30 to 90 minutes to make a holster. I should have two ovens and 3 presses to speed thing along.

What does that have to say about you :D
    I'm open minded?

Did you say that you are going to try an make a kydex holster for a revolver?
No, I was going to leave that for you for whenever you can get to it. I don't want my first attempt to be that much of a challenge. I'm going to do a pink/purple Kydex for one of my daughter's pistols.
