Umm a gas mask isnt going to save you from radiation. I hope you know that. It may protect you from particulate matter but It wont save you from radiation.

I am sorry to say you wasted your money for naught

If you're within 150 miles of the plant or you are down wind of it, you may want to get some potassium iodate pills.

I think the particulate matter is a pretty big deal in many radiological events. If something nuclear exploded, I would want a gas mask.

Uhh, radiation isnt a gas. You'll be screwed like everyone else.
if you were exposed to it yes. im not talking about a nuclear bomb im talking about a nuclear plant that was built in the 70's that has had leaks. how do you think they maintain the plant. if that was the case then there would not be any nuclear power plant, if suits and masks could not protect a person from radiation.

That might even do much good, depending on how much dose you receive. It's based on total accumulated dose. With radiation, distance is your friend. Breathing radioactive dust is damaging but exposure is what gets you. Evacuate.
