Are you a server? A server, is a server, is a server no matter where they serve.

No I am not a server, but I apparently have far more respect for them than you do. I certainly depend on good servers for dining advice on food, wines and cocktails. There can be huge differences between servers in different levels of restaurants and if you think servers just walk in and serve in quality places I got news for you, they don’t, not without first learning skills, studying manuals and taking tests. Heck even places like Chick-Fil-A does not just hire and send them out to serve.
Hard work is just that hard work. You missed the post where I talked about my first job was at ponderosa. I know the industry first hand.

So you worked a first job at a company that once had near 600 locations and now has 37 in the world and 16 in the states and you know all about the dining business? That’s like getting mechanic advice from a guy who worked at a jiffy lube in high school. :lmfao:
Again no way in heck am I tipping a server more then i male in an hour, I dont care about the total bill! I work extremely hard and in some of the roughest conditions but im not asking the server to tip me bc the power is on for them to have a job.

What does what you get paid or how hard you work have to do with what a server should be tipped? If you sit down in an expensive restaurant or bring a bunch of people, if the service was average or better then I believe the patron owes 15% of what they asked to be served to the server.
As far as medications, do you know what capitalism is? You may need to do some research on big pharma. Just look up...one example.

A $500 meal and folks will only tip 20 bucks?! I tipped more than that for a date night at Ruth Chris for just the wife and I (no alcohol running up the bill either).

I'm going to guess those folks likely haven't been to many $500 meals. The $500+ meals I've been at, service has been superb... they deserve their tip and earned it, just like the server at Texas Roadhouse earns their 20% (of a much lower bill)...
I know a couple of high end servers and they now are responsible for more than ever. The whole food allergy issue is huge and can mean life and death taking care of customers and following restaurant allergy protocols, knowing the menu, the ingredients, the wines, the cocktails, is a lot, all while dealing with people that all have high expectations, it just may be more than keeping the power on.

Ruth Chris, Morton's, Del Frisco's Double Eagle in Vegas...tip $20 at those places, should the staff be able to request you not return?
That is a great list! And yes, staff absolutely has the right not to serve those that do not pay them…

Never fails. :lmfao: You googled ponderosa, good for you!

Anyone who has a job should work hard because they choose to work or get fired. You are not forced to work anywhere leave if the pay isn't to your standards.

You think servers now are far more skilled than a lineman who can die if he makes one mistake. And people always come complain when they have no power. Lol I know what bad customers are. It takes years to learn, My 17 yo daughter is a server part-time and she learned it in a few weeks. It is hard work, yes, but she plans to go to college and move on.

But who says I don't have respect for servers? Just because I view a server position as a job that isn't a meant to be a career to raise a family on. That's just my opinion, and there is just a reality to the situation.

I'm glad it is my choice what to tip. Just because I value my money THAT I EARNED and decide to give it to whom I want, now I don't respect people? Entitlement??? Recently I tipped 500$ to a lady bc the server was awesome, and I overheard her husband had passed on top the small 40$ tab.

You always go off on tangents with examples that are so out there. Lol. If you use a coupon on a bag of chips, is that not capitalism now??? Is the insurance industry not capitalism??? We should start a thread on what we all think capitalism is.

Get the thread back on taxes!!!!!!

Yep, I knew they were decimated to almost nothing but it was worse than I expected.

Anyone who has a job should work hard because they choose to work or get fired. You are not forced to work anywhere leave if the pay isn't to your standards.
The big deal to me is the implied contract when one accepts the service but says “Again no way in heck am I tipping a server more then i male in an hour” and “I personally will never tip beyond 20 to 30$ max even if the bill is 500$”…

You think servers now are far more skilled than a lineman who can die if he makes one mistake. And people always come complain when they have no power. Lol I know what bad customers are. It takes years to learn,
I just gave you an example, a server makes one mistake and a kid could die.

My 17 yo daughter is a server part-time and she learned it in a few weeks. It is hard work, yes, but she plans to go to college and move on.
Again, no respect. Your daughter isn’t even legal to serve at Ruth’s Chris, much less have the knowledge and experience to actually do so but they are not different or worth more than “20 to 30$ max” is what was said.

But who says I don't have respect for servers? Just because I view a server position as a job that isn't a meant to be a career to raise a family on. That's just my opinion, and there is just a reality to the situation.
    Your own words.

I'm glad it is my choice what to tip. Just because I value my money THAT I EARNED and decide to give it to whom I want, now I don't respect people? Entitlement???

There is an implied contract it is not “giving” anything until the tip for service a customary rates is delivered.
Recently I tipped 500$ to a lady bc the server was awesome, and I overheard her husband had passed on top the small 40$ tab.
That is charity and is awesome to help folks.

Is the insurance industry not capitalism???
It is if you buy it, it is socialism if someone buys it for you and that bad precedent was set in the WWII era with a facet of communism, wage controls

We should start a thread on what we all think capitalism is.

Get the thread back on taxes!!!!!!
Good idea, start it, I’ll be there…
