Well, my stamps finally came in today! The time flew by so fast I almost forgot I had them out.

Both stamps were sent out at the same time; From mailbox-back to my mailbox was exactly 178 days.

    NFA Item: 1st stamp: SBR AR15, 300blk / 2nd stamp: SBR Scar 16s
    Form Type: Form 1
    Transferee Type: Individual
    Forms Sent: 10/2/12
    Check Cashed: 10/8/12
    Pending Date: 10/10/12
    Approved Date: 3/24/13
    Forms Received: 3/29/13
    Examiner Name: Nickie Dudash (again!)

Your approval date is a Sunday. NFA examiners punch the clock on the weekends?

Looks like the rumors are true. They have slowed down even more. Two months to go pendig means you are probably looking at 7.5-8 months.

I just mailed off my 1st ever form 4 and assorted other required paperwork on 4-01-13 for a suppressor. It is quite irritating that ANYTHING would take six months to approve, not to mention possibly longer. The government and it's efficiency.

Notice how fast they cash those checks? They do not play around on taking the money. The rest not so much it seems.

I just check on one I sent in on 1/28/13 check cashed on 2/6/13 still no pending date. The lady on the phone said data entry is behind due to the high number of forms comming in. GREAT:facepalm: I still have 3 more behind that one.
Edit: I talked to the NFA on Tuesday and after some time on the phone found out they entered ther serial number incorrectly now its pending March 13th.

I heard a rumor from a reputable source that somewhere in the July time frame suppressors will be an OTC purchase with a NICS check and tax stamp payment. Anyone else heard this?

I don't think so. How are they going to maintain the registry like that? They could have a special NICS number for suppressors I suppose that directs you to the NFA branch, but I really can't see the ATF going for that. Also, how would they distribute the stamps?

I had heard something similar from a reputable source. A man with many connections. Not a shop owner

would be great... tomorrow is the 6 month anniversary of me sending off my first check, now I was told this before but I just wait for a call from the dealer when they get my paper work, right?

    Hopefully should be SOON...:dunno:
