    Here
For your defense, would you rather carry...

    1 round of .45
    2 rounds of .40
    3 rounds of 9mm
    4 rounds of .38
    10 rounds of .22LR

Personally, I feel more comfortable with multiple rounds but what say you?

This sounds bad,but if I'm down to your selection, I have already discharged what should be in the gun at the bad guy. Why would you not be perpared? Limit the number of bullets that you carry for defense based on caliber seems kind of obsured. just my 2 cents, if I was down to 1 I would be looking for a gun with more in it.

    Here
I know this is beating a dead horse. But it's just a new way to look at the question.

I KNOW THIS IS A BOGUS, DUMB, STUPID, WHATEVER, SITUATION

But there is no discharged gun, no previously fired rounds, no unpreparedness, no bad guy.

I have provided the scenario, and these are your ONLY choices...

The idea is to see how many of you who prefer larger caliber weapons, would still prefer them with a limited number of rounds.

Are you completely confident in your abilities...? Or would rather have opportunities to follow up...?

It's just a question, please stick to the given scenario...

    Thank you

Big John, maybe he is legit. I just don't care for his tone. When you post a question, be open to all types of answers. I'm just saying. :dunno:

10 rounds of 22 here as well.
Not because I need additional shots, its because I prefer that opton if needed.

I'm also pretty certain a couple of 22 rounds would deter 95% of the bad guys.
10, I supect would slow down a whole gang.

Drowning in Ginger Ale would be my choice. But Vernors? Not so sure. Canada Dry is better, IMHO. Both are lacking in stopping power. At least you don't die thirsty...

    2, please. Final answer.

I come home to a 6 and 9 year old everyday who attack with everything they have. I'm 6'3" and 230. I imagine a flock of 9 year olds with bats would be a quick death.

(In all seriousness, I do like the original question. For SHTF, 10 rounds of 22. For self-defense carry? 4 rounds of .38. Another one here who is comfortable carrying a lightweight .38 with five rounds anyway.)

Did Guns and Ammo ask to use one of your first 50 posts for its depth and originality? Me neither. Give the guy a break, he has a thread that asks a question about calibers a little differently. If you don't like his premise, how about a battlefield pickup. Which one of his choices would you choose in that scenario. I choose the 4 .38 option.:draw:
