this is a post that was wrote by a friend I'd mine, and I know it was meant for me. It is long and I'm sorry but soooooo worth the read. I am verrrry angry right now and I can't think straight. Someone give me some good things to say to this lady to put her in her place
I would like everyone to just take a moment and imagine life on this planet in this country without vasectomies, tubilectomies, birth control pills, condoms, IUDs, etc.. Imagine where you would be at in life without any form of birth control or STD protection available to you. If you are not a woman, think about how the life of a woman you love and respect (lover, mother, cousin, daughter) would be different if it were not for birth control or protection. For the heteros on here: would you stop having sex? would you throw caution to the wind and see just how many babies God wanted you to have? are you confident you could get a job (pregnant-if you're a woman) that would pay enough to support all of the children you created? are you confident the world could even supply enough to take care of all of the children that would be created? I look at what is happening and who is doing it and I come to the conclusion that Yes. A vote for the GOP is, in fact, a vote against women. My right, the right of my daughters, your rights, your lover's rights, your daughter's rights...to their bodies, trumps all this other bullsh*t. I am truly ashamed of anyone who would take away someone's right to make a decision for themselves about their body, their health, their physical and mental well being. Even this "right to bear arms" push that happens every election, brought to you by the NRA, I'm not even sorry to say this but your right to your gun is f*ck all to me if it means me and my loved ones losing the right to decide when, how, what to do with pregnancy. And if you choose your gun over your loved one's right to choose whether or not to get pregnant and whether or not to continue on with that pregnancy...that's just sad. It's not just an abortion issue. It's a birth control issue. You vote to take those rights away, have fun with your hand or supporting all the babies you force into the world. (This is written under the assumption that people who want to keep their guns actually believe that Obama wants to take them away.) PS A study has been done showing that a loss of birth control access results in increased crime rates. Sooooo you take away that access, you BETTER hope you keep your gun.
