GOT QUE, for YA !!!!!I had no idea...I love learning something new every day.
Sorry Que, but I've already repped you today.
Why do you put all of that bull**** in all of your posts? Why not just start a thread about it and move on? It's really annoying.
WE, have been pc, for TOO LONG NOW ..... STOP, this bs .....Not sure who said it....
"What this generation tolerates, the next embraces".
If we tolerate all this pandering, PC, BS of allowing the revision of our traditions and history, what do we expect our kids to do? We reap what we sow.
^^^^^^ This^^^^^^^^Nothing wrong with that. I pledge allegiance to my country, but I have no belief in a higher being so I omit those words as well. The 1st Amendment should have included freedom from religion to go along with freedom of religion.
We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Not sure why anyone's getting upset over a pledge to the government that was designed by a socialist, with the intent to strengthen socialism.
Easy for you to say since you didn't have to recite the original Pledge in first grade and then learn the revised one the following year."Under God" was added to the pledge in 1954, so it's more a reversion to the original than anything else.
And sell flags. People would crap if they knew Bellamy delivered sermons on the virtues of socialism in his church. He was eventually pushed out of his church after delivering sermons with such titles as "Jesus the Socialist". Or that he shared his cousin's dream of an America where everyone earned the same wage and was drafted into the "Industrial Army" at age 21 only to work in a state assigned job.
What's Conservative about the Pledge of Allegiance? | Gene Healy | Cato Institute: Daily Commentary
History shows us that great movements/plans/ideas came from the most unlikely people. It really doesn't matter to me who was used to bring the pledge into existence. I've been saying it since 1973 and as of right now, it's the only thing I know, besides the National Anthem, that brings every American into one accord for the 10 seconds it takes to recite it. At least with the Pledge, people can remember the words. I am still amazed by the number of people who do not know the National Anthem. Maybe their parents had issues with the words.
I don't think he had to say the Pledge in the first grade.Easy for you to say since you didn't have to recite the original Pledge in first grade and then learn the revised one the following year.
Edit: Google search finds NBC has apologized and stated it was not intentional. Would like to know the whole story.
Mission accomplished. Thinking, shut down. Blind allegiance, check.

You mean like when it was revised in 1954 by the generation which really got the ball rolling on the downfall of our country?
The downfall ball got rolling long before 1954, my friend. Try 40-50 years earlier with the beginning of the progressive movement.

He's Canadian.
Not meant as an insult. What? The pledge WAS changed in 1954. The original version DIDN'T have "under God" in it. I don't see how your point is in any way relevant. I didn't even pronounce a judgement on the change, simply stated a relevant fact.
I'm not really sure where you get that idea, or what your reasoning is for the Canadian insult. I went to elementary school in Portage, Indiana. We did say the Pledge of Allegiance.
