So if he comes to your house and knocks on the door, what do you do? :dunno:

You ask Mr.Obama to stay outside and you let the POTUS come inside?

How do you refer to him if you dont show any respect to him?

    Just curious.

How is that showing respect to the POTUS? :dunno:

Did you see the part where I asked him respectfully :):

    I'll say this.

I respect the office of the Presidency. If any foreigner (even one from Kenya) were to show blatant disrespect to, or attempt to harm the occupant of that office (whoever he or she may be), I would make every effort to kick their a.. . I sincerely believe that the current occupant is a class-A socialist dip-s... . He is, however, our class-A socialist dip-s... and for that reason, and within that context, I will show him my respect.

My teacher today told the class to ''Respect president Obama.'' Now I then said ''If you don't like him respect the office not the man.'' (Since my republican buddies were getting kind of noisy) She then said ''No respect OBAMA!'' Ya sure I will, sure I will

I can't respect anyone who is trying to disarm me and not give me a personal policeman to protect me 24 hrs a day, who wants to tax me and give the money to his constituents, who voted against the born alive infants act, etc, etc, etc.

I can't bring myself to have such great amounts of respect for someone who believes in a stratified society where elites and oligarchs have privileges that the rest of the peasant class does not. It is hard to respect a person who uses his position of power to exercise executive fiat and bypass checks and balances designed to keep people like him in check. It's hard to respect someone who is feverishly working on a daily basis to eradicate my basic human rights.

I respect Obama the same way I respect an encounter with a dangerous/wild animal that could hurt or kill me. The only difference is, I know that the animal isn't doing what it's doing because it's a narcissistic control freak.

But how do you show respect to one without showing respect to the other. :dunno:

    Oh, that's EASY.

    Respect for the office:
Yes, Sir. No, Sir. Thank you for your time, and have a great day.

Respect for the person (assuming I actually respected them):
Hey! What an honor to meet you! Come on in. Can I get you a drink?

Respect for the person in reality:
No, thanks. There are some Democrats a few doors down if you need a photo-op.

I would respectfully (out of respect for the office, zero respect for the man) order him off my private property. I wouldn't ask him a damn thing.

You would be better off, I think, with choosing between respect for a man and paying courtesy to a man as your President.

Once I started doing this, I found it very easy to not let my personal opinions of a person affect the treatment they deserve.

We should all hope nothing happens to him, then Biden "the tardarino" would be POTUS. No other president made me rich why should I allow this one to make me poor. No other president gave me my family or bought my house or taught my dog to sit. Life goes on, live as if the man in the high castle does not exist and enjoy each other.:twocents:

As a young person, my father ingrained in my head that I was to ALWAYS show respect to elders regardless of what I thought of them. If I had issue with someone who was my elder, I was to show them the respect due them and then let him know what had happened when I got home and he would deal with it accordingly. If I got caught disrespecting an elder, I had **** to pay when I got home.
Ya know, I was brought up the same but anymore, the more respect you show to some, the more they :poop: on you.

    This makes me wonder....

Did George Washington respect the King's office but not the man? Or did he just not respect either?
