Found a few more yesterday but nothing special. I'm guessing it's still a little early.

Finally found 4 peckerheads and a small sponge today in the Lafayette region. The peckerheads appeared to be starting to get dry. Don't know if it's late or just starting.

Went out in Hamilton Co yesterday. We found about 110 spikes, a dozen yellows and a dozen grays. There were about another 50 spikes that were too far gone to salvage. Some of the yellows were big, some not so much.

    Best,

    Joe

I'm seeing a ton of elephant ear starts. Is that a sign that morels are just coming, already here or already gone?

Hit and miss up north, went to one woods and we each (brother and I) found about 150 or so each. he went to another one of "our" spots and only found about 20.
On the plus side, I've got 3 growing in my yard this year, never had any before.

Dad and I went out last Saturday morning before the rain started again. They were spread out, 1 or 2 here - 1 or 2 there, but we did end up with a couple dozen. And boy they were fresh. All of them had just come up the night before. First ones we have seen.

I found 5 gray sponge, & a dozen snake heads yesterday, in about an hour.
I carry my Judge, loaded with .410 when mushroom hunting. Seems to get the job done.
